HOPE India
Saturday, July 03, 2010 @ 2:35 PM i am confirmed going to india at the end of the year for about 10-12 days! how cool is that! HOPE worldwide is an organisation set up by my church and this time they want youths to go there and help out.. i'm gonna meet teens from churches all over the world! quite excited. i just submitted my registration forms.. i need to save money from now on. and then go there for a crazy shopping spree if possible. Here's the blog for the trip. http://www.hycindiachristmas2010.blogspot.com/ It is from 19th to 30th dec 2010. flights must be booked personally, registration of trip costs $600 USD, food, accomodation and transport within india provided. If you are interested to join, do feel free to give me a call. This isn't a joke, so if you really feel like going just tell me. I think this trip can also give a lot of CIP hours due to the activities that we are going to do over there. HERE ARE THE ACTIVITIES THAT WE WILL BE DOING: Activities at the school Teaching the school children on various subjects Helping the school kids with creative craftwork Helping the kids to draw pictures and paint Singing and dancing with the kids Skits and small role plays based on health , hygiene , food, global warming, etc Paint murals for the school Planting trees at school compound Outdoor games like football, volley ball, etc Indoor games for the school kids Organising a carnival for the school kids Activities out side the school Home Visits ( School children): visiting the fishermen homes and understand their life style Traditional outdoor games with community members Cultural activities: cultural art and entertainment by the community members Organising a medical camp for community members Feeding the sick : feeding the leprosy patients Local sight visits: visiting local tourist spot like Mamallapuram/ crocodile bank/ bird sanctuary / Dakshinchitra The overall costs are actually filthy cheap. for so many activities, inclusive of all the accomodationa and food. Plus getting to meet people from M'sia, US, France, UK, india etc...) okay done ranting. |
